During the course of this 20 week challenge my goals were to reveal a six-pack and also to further reduce my body fat percentage and increase my strength. I sought Dwayne’s advice and spent the first ten weeks building up strength with the benefit of a gym partner. Dwayne created a programme which would firstly increase strength and muscle which meant training three days a week in the gym. Dwayne also included running in the weekends as one of my goals was the Lake Hood Half Marathon.
I entered the last 20 week challenge and found it very difficult to follow Dwayne’s advice as I was focused more on my weeding plans etc. I attended the awards night and to my surprise won one of the awards (Best strength).  Winning this award improved my motivation to give the competition another go and really focus on my own health and wellbeing. I was with my friend and business partner Aragorn at the awards night and we decided to have our own AB OFF competition for the next 20 week competition. Dwayne was very happy to guide us towards our goals and made very solid plan/goals for us to follow. I have a lot of respect for Dwayne because he was always open and ready to help me and Aragorn understand how we could become anything I wanted.
This time round I was able to stick to the three sessions per week advised by Dwayne and I started to feel really fit and light when I went for my weekend runs training for the half marathon. At the end of  the first ten weeks I was thrilled with my strength increase. It was at this point, under the direction of Dwayne that I switched to a reduced calorie zig zag diet to reduce my body fat while maintaining the muscle I had built up. My story is as follows.
During the length of this competition my food choices have not only been healthy but I no longer feel that I am depriving myself or missing out on anything. At no other point in my life have I ever practiced such a healthy diet. Both my wife and younger daughter now enjoy similar eating habits to me, which means that the whole family lives a healthy lifestyle now.
In the later part of the 20 week challenge I realised I was moving towards a body shape that I had considered was beyond me. Dwayne always explained in great detail how wonderful I was doing and how amazed he was with the results so far. He would say “Keep this up and you will be back on that stage and when you stand there with that huge smile please remember what my name is this time lol” Yep I was calling him something else.
Seeing the changes that have taken place within myself, and having this sentiment echoed by friends alike, I feel I have the capacity to improve further . I am now seriously considering body sculpting/body building competitions.  I now weigh less than I ever have in the last 12 years - since my mid-20s. I’ve had to buy a belt just so that my pants will stay up! My strength gains have given me many benefits in life and I love the results.
I’ve had friends and family tell me I’m looking in good shape. I’m now walking the walk as well as talking the talk in my family’s health business which has benefited substantially with the all the new energy and knowledge I have received from the 20 week competition. My personal trainer has guided me through many areas of my life and shown me that I can achieve anything I put my mind to and action my dreams and goals.
I am so pleased I have achieved the six-pack abs and know that it’s only a matter of months to reveal eight. I believe that I have a better body than most people ten years younger than me - and it feels great!!
The most significant change for me over this 20 week challenge is my level of motivation. I have really enjoyed going to the gym and running every week - at no time in the past have I ever felt like this. I know that this motivational shift is part of my on-going personal development and, combined with the inspiration from my personal trainer and information I have gleaned from the 20 week weekly newsletters, I have learnt so much about creating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. 20 weeks is a great amount of time to fully change unhealthy habits and implement new healthy beliefs and habits that will keep me on track for my entire life time.

As part of my journey after an NLP weekend with Mike Catton just prior to this 20 week challenge, I have not eaten a single lolly. To me this is very significant as I used to eat a packet of sour worms and consume a pint of cream every 2 days and I also had a few wines etc most nights. I have learned  many tools to change my bad habits and I can now confidently say I have moved past these old vices and  along with the physical changes I have experienced in the last 20 weeks I feel and believe I am a stronger, healthier and happier person with many wonderful challenges ahead.

I thank the 20 week team for gifting this wonderful life changing experience to me and I cannot express how grateful I am with the support and guidance from my personal trainer.
